Meet Our Knowledgeable Vancouver WA Dentist
Dr. Ryan Bohnstedt, DDS
Dr. Bohnstedt started his educational journey with a double biology major in marine mammal research at Portland State University before moving to OHSU Dental School to focus his studies on Anterior Aesthetics Restorations. Dr. Bohnstedt also spent two years studying framing carpentry in Vancouver. When he is not rebuilding patients’ smiles, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 4 children, as well as their Greater Swiss Mountain dog. He loves taking his family on camping trips, and he can often be found riding his dirt bike through the mountain trails. When he is not in the great outdoors, he is at home woodworking and making delicious BBQ meals for his family and friends.
Dr. Fred Thompson, DMD
Dr. Thompson grew up traveling across the country while his father served the United States Navy. At age 12 his family moved to Utah after his father’s retirement. Dr. Thompson followed in his fathers footsteps and joined the Navy reserves after graduating from West Jordan High School.
His experiences in the Navy had a great impact on what would one day become his career. He began serving as a Navy Hospital Corpsman, and eventually was activated from the reserves to work at Oakland Navel Hospitals Emergency Room. During his 7 years in the reserves and his experiences during Desert Storm, his passion for woking with people in the medical field cemented his future life path.
Upon returning home after Desert Storm Dr. Thompson attended the University of Utah for his undergraduate courses.
When considering which dental school to attend, Dr. Thompson was inspired by his time living next to the ocean in his early childhood, so the Pacific Northwest seemed to be the only choice. He began dental school at Oregon Health and Sciences University in 1993.
