In an interview published today with the Columbian, Smiles Dental president Dr. Jeromy Dixson discussed with staff reporter Aaron Corvin how the recent insurance-fee cuts made by Washington’s largest dental insurance provider, Seattle-based Washington Dental Service, impacts both patients and dentists.

Dr. Dixson said that accepting the rate cuts enables Smiles’ patients to remain in-network and to keep their out-of-pocket costs low. While the cuts will impact Smiles’ revenues, he told the Columbian that Smiles Dental will focus on insurance fee cuts of dental lab expenses and other ways to continue to provide affordable, quality dental care to all of its patients.
