Dr. Steven Pond, while born in Salt Lake City, UT, considers himself a
native of the Northwest. He grew up in Cowlitz County attending school in
Castle Rock. He completed his undergraduate training at Brigham Young
University and received his dental degree from Oregon Health and Sciences
University in 1996 where he graduated with high honors. Dr. Pond then
received advanced training in general dentistry by completing a two year
General Practice Residency at Carolina's Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.
He is also fluent in Portuguese, having lived in Brazil for two years while
on a mission for his church.
Dr. Pond has practiced in Kelso, WA, since 1998 when he joined Brad Larsen
and Hilander Dental Excellence. Since Dr. Larsen's retirement, he has
joined his practice to the Smiles Family Dental team. Dr. Pond enjoys the
diversity of general dentistry and finds particular satisfaction in cosmetic
dentistry, where patients can undergo dramatic changes to their smiles. He,
along with his friendly, attentive dental team enjoy providing incredible
service to their patients ensuring that each who enters Hilander Smiles is comfortable and treated well.
Dr. Pond and his wife, Tracy, make their home in Longview. They have five children whom they chase around at their various activities. Whether it be at a ballet recital, a soccer or basketball game, or at the school carnival, the Ponds enjoy the many opportunities that Cowlitz County offers their family. Dr. Pond in his spare time likes to travel, play basketball, and serve in his church. His secret fantasy is to be on American Idol and you can hear him practicing as he sings while he works.
